What are Dangerous Goods Safety Cabinets?

Dangerous goods safety cabinets are specialised storage solutions designed to safely house, store and contain dangerous goods. Having dedicated safety cabinets allow for dangerous goods to be stored in a safe environment but also segregated from other dangerous goods and potentially preventing any related hazards.

Our range of safety cabinets are made from heavy duty steel. They feature a double wall construction with a 40mm thermal barrier for ultimate protection in the event of a workplace fire. Other safety features include vent ports with flash arrestors, self-closing doors, an in-built containment sump to collect any leaks of dangerous liquids, perforated shelving to permit airflow and safety and warning signage.

The Importance of Compliance with Australian Standards for Safety Cabinets

Compliance with Australian Standards is crucial for ensuring the safety and reliability of safety cabinets used in various industries. All of our safety cabinets are manufactured to meet the requirements of relevant Australian Standards. By following Australian Standards, we ensure that our products are designed to provide safe storage solutions, protecting both personnel and property from potential hazards. Compliance not only fosters a safer working environment but also enhances operational efficiency by reducing incidents related to improper storage practices.

Different Sizes of Dangerous Goods Cabinets and Their Applications

When it comes to safely storing dangerous goods, there are a few factors to consider when choosing the right size for your workplace needs. Safety cabinets come in various dimensions and capacities, catering to a wide range of applications across industries.

It is important to first consider how many liters of dangerous goods you will need to store. Different cabinets have different sump capacities and the maximum storage capacity must be considered when storing dangerous goods in line with Australian Standards.

Smaller safety cabinets such as 30L or 60L cabinets are ideal for environments with limited space or where only a small quantity of hazardous substances needs to be stored. Their dimensions often allow them to be placed under workbenches or in corners without compromising accessibility.

Our larger safety cabinets however such as the 250L or 350L are suited for facilities that handle significant volumes of dangerous goods. These cabinets not only provide ample storage and can accommodate multiple shelves, making them suitable for comprehensive inventory management.
