Organic absorbents

Organic absorbents which are made from organic, sustainable or recycled resources are ideal for bio-degrading at a suitable and approved land farm facility to minimise disposal costs.

Most of these absorbents are hydrophobic (will repel water but absorb only oil-based liquids) and therefore are categorised as oil and fuel (hydrocarbon) absorbents. Items containing Global Peat are non-leaching and contain oil-eating bacteria to help them biodegrade faster.
