Pipe markers are labels which identify either a pipe’s contents or the hazardous natures of the contents, or both. The words on these labels are placed on a background of the base identification colour with an outer contrasting colour.
In accordance to Australian Standards each pipe identification colour represents different applications. It is also largely in the convenience The colour green is for water substances, silver-grey is for steam related, brown for oils, flammable and combustible liquids, yellow-ochre for gases, violet for acids and alkalis, light blue for air, black for other liquids, red for fire services, orange for electric power and white for communications.
All of our pipe markers are manufactured to comply with Australian Standard AS1345-1995 – Identification of the contents of pipes, conduits and ducts.
