Easily Turn Aerosol Cans Into Recyclable Steel

Although a commonly used item in the workplace, aerosol cans can pose several dangers, especially when not disposed of correctly. Due to the pressurised nature of aerosol cans they have the potential to explode when compromised and the propellants such as butane and propane pose fire risks if mishandled.

Additionally, active ingredients may include toxic or corrosive substances, making them hazardous to personnel.
To mitigate these risks the Justrite® Aerosolv® Recycling Systems have been designed to convert empty aerosol cans into safe recyclable steel.

How does the Aerosolv System Work?

Mounted on a standard 55-gallon drum, the Aerosolv puncturing system safely punctures aerosol cans to effectively drain and capture residual liquids, relieve the can of pressurised gases, and filter VOCs. The punctured cans become “empty containers” and are safe for recycling. Drums of collected residual liquids can then be disposed of as hazardous waste.
