RemActiv is a remediation liquid additive that enhances the bio-remediation process. It contains micro-organisms and a specially formulated nutrient mix that results in faster remediation times and cheaper processing costs of contaminated soils or water.
The bio-remediation of contaminated soil or water is often required as the final stage of a spill clean up. RemActiv is an Australian made product which comprises natural bacteria to suit our tough, Australian environment.
The naturally occurring process where soil or water is purified uses the enzymatic action of bacteria. This biological process requires time and the presence of a large number of naturally-occurring (but scarce in nature) micro-organisms. These micro-organisms use organic materials as a source of energy and available nutrients for their growth, converting them to carbon dioxide and water.
When left to nature, this process may take years. By controlling the number of micro-organisms and their environment (oxygen, pH, nutrient concentrations and moisture), the biological decomposition of hydrocarbons and other chemicals present in soil or water can be dramatically accelerated.
Bio-remediation liquid is supplied as a concentrate which can then be diluted with de-chlorinated water for spraying onto the contaminated area. The dilution rates vary depending on the type of surface and level of contamination.
RemActiv is ideal for the treatment of:
- Contaminated soil and water
- Oil/water interceptors
- Separation pits
- Waste lagoons
- Drillers sumps
- Improving the bacteria levels of landfarms
RemActiv remediation liquid is also effective for degrading:
- Fuels such as diesel or petrol
- Lubricants such as oils or grease
- Phenols
- Organic waste treatment
- Plus many other substances
