Warning road signs

Warning road signs are used to warn road users of potentially hazardous conditions on or adjacent to the road.

Warning road signs advise of conditions which require caution and may call for a reduction in speed in the interest of the safety of road users.

They are usually yellow diamond shapes with black borders, text and icons.

Examples of road warning signage include T-junction ahead, merging traffic or side road intersection ahead.

Warning signs are Class 1 retroreflective and manufactured from either metal or aluminium material. They have been designed to meet Australian Standards.
